On behalf of the committee and members of the Waterford Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland I would like to invite the National membership of DSI to Waterford for our National Annual General Meeting on the 8th June 2013.
The Waterford Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland is very proud to host the 2013 DSI National AGM and hope you enjoy your visit to our part of the country.
We have a large range of activities arranged and hope as many DSI members come to Waterford and make this AGM a truly national event and a great success.
The venue for the AGM is the Tower Hotel
The Tower Hotel is right in the centre of the Viking Trangle area of the City with a short walk to the Museums, Shops and some great Restaurants. Everything you will need is close by.
The Tower Hotel has a full leisure centre available to those staying at the Hotel and with car parking at the rear of the hotel you will be well catered for.
Please follow This Link for a Map of Waterford City and This Link for a list of restaurants.
The Waterford Branch of DSI is very grateful that his Worship The Mayor of Waterford, Cllr. Jim D’Arcy is hosting a reception for AGM attendees in his Office on Friday evening 7th June. Do try get here on Friday and join us for some food and nibbles and get to know people from other parts of the country.
The Mayor’s office is about a 3 minute walk from the hotel.
The reception is followed by an Alcohol Free Disco in the Tower Hotel. I’m sure all our kids & adults will love this and have a great time dancing to “Westlife” or “One Direction” etc.
To attend the AGM and workshops/activities there are a number of forms that need to be completed and returned to Annette in National Office.
Please use the follow links to download these forms.
Please following this link to other accommodation options
The Waterford Branch is very pleased to offer activities during the day for children and adults to keep them occupied should they not wish to attend the AGM. These activities include Dance, Music Therapy, Keep Fit, Rhythm & Shakes and a theatre workshop with the Little Red Kettle Theatre Company.
We hope they will enjoy the day but remember we are limited to the amount of places we have so you must book your places via the forms above. Places will be assigned on a first come basis. We have also arranged a creche in the hotel which again you must book as places are limited.
After the AGM is over the Waterford Branch of Down Syndrome invites you to a cheese & wine Reception. The venue for this reception is in the under-crofts of the new Waterford Medieval Museum. Once again this Museum is just a short 4 minute walk from the hotel.
Prior to the cheese & wine reception there is an opportunity to avail of a guided tour of this magnificent museum, or if you prefer you can wander through the museum by yourself. both for free.
There is a Dinner Dance on Saturday evening. After the Dinner Traces Dance Ensemble will preform and be assured this is not to be missed! A disco will follow.
On Sunday morning we hope, weather permitting, to have a picnic at the Waterford Suir Valley Railway which is situated outside the city in Kilmeaden. (Note transport is not provided so you will need to make your own way out.)
All in all we hope you have a wonderful and productive time in Waterford
